I am glad to see this.

It ensures that Alfredsson will not only finish his career in Ottawa, but will undoubtedly be the last one in the Senators organization to wear #11. For a newer franchise, it is nice to see some tradition being established.

   You KNOW they will retire his number the day after he plays his final game.

   Certainly a good move by the Sens. Alfie probably could have signed for more somewhere else. Shows his commitment to the team.

   It is well known that people will pay top dollar for those things they highly value. Why does it APPEAR that in our western society that we value hockey players above all others ? I mean when was the last time Dr. Keon was paid $5.5 million dollars in one year ?
