The more people I meet and talk with, the more I am convinced about that title.
For most people, myself included, often times, the how becomes the who. I think that should read – the how mistakenly becomes the who.
How God touches your life, can become who God is in our lives.
Examples…
- If God touched your life in a supernatural fashion, then that is how he must touch everyones life.
- Rather if God touched your life through a long process of deep friendship, then that is how he must touch others as well.
There is beauty in this, but also danger.
The danger is that we can, in turn, speak to people in moral imperatives.
- God only moves this way.
- If you are not doing "this" then you are not moving with God.
I have been guilty of this type of thinking, and it is one of my biggest regrets as a follower of Christ. I spoke and created division with my words and attitudes. While I wouldn't have known I was doing this, the fruit of that time in my life is quite evident.
Now I celebrate the diversity in which God touches people but understand that He is much larger than how He touches us. Yes there are expressions of faith that I am more comfortable with, but my comfort & preferences are not the goal – embracing God for who He is should always be the bullseye.

I really liked this point when you touched on it a couple of weeks ago. I have often found that in the past people beat me over the head with the ’stick’ that God is using in their lives…… OK, occasionally I do it too!
Great reminder.
