Eight Clubs I have belonged to in my life
1. Lincoln Gymnastics Club – I was heavy into gymnastics for several years. I loved it and I think I can still do a back hand spring and an aerial cartwheel.
2. Awana Clubs – Approved-Workman-Are-Not-Ashamed, this was a scripture memorization club I was in for years. It was both memorization and sports… very good program.
3. Crusader Clubs – This was like the Christian version of Girl Guides
4. Chess Club – Not sure why I signed up for this club… I know we missed a day of school to to go the competition… that was probably why… I still like chess… but I am pretty random at it… not so strategic… still pretty hard to beat according to Chess Expert Phil Richard.
5. The Cougars Club – not to be confused with what it means today to be a "Cougar". We were actually a gang in grade six… it was pretty intense… Just kidding.
6. The French Club – This was a club that met early in the morning before school. We learned about French Culture and ate French food like crepe’s and yule logs. Are those things actually French?
7. Ski Club – This was some of the most fun I ever had in my life. When I signed up for the ski club I had never actually been skiing but after that I was hooked… I got pretty good after a couple years.
8. OAC Tennis Club – Jason and belonged to the OAC one summer. We went took private lessons and played every day of the week. We miss playing tennis together. Something we will look forward to once the kids get a bit older.
Have you ever belonged to a club?

Woody Allen once said: “I wouldn’t want to be a member of a club that would have me as a member.”
