It breaks my heart to see the shape some people are in - you can look at them and tell that they do not value their life - they are broken and they look it. If only we really beleived we had the power from GOD to change peoples lives & direction. Maybe then we would not have the need to be right! Sometimes we hide our own imperfections behind the "being right syndrome" As long as we are right about something, we don't have to deal with all our own wrong - wrong thoughts & issues! When we see the wrong in others, it can make us feel a bit better about ourselves - What is that!! We should "feel for others" not always turn everything back to me! Oh boy, will we ever get it right!!Really Right, heart, attitude, mind, body and spirit!!! Gotta lot of work to do! In me First, not "me" first!!! Keep up the great job, stirring up our thoughts! Nothing serious, I am just comparing Septuagint and MT as well as comparing Textus Receptus versus Codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus. I keep hearing statments from one side or the other and in these arguments, these scholars keep interjecting verses to support their views. Many of these times, these verses have no place in their discussion. You have just shown me that if you want to see something, you will. Instead, what does God's will have for you. In some ways, especially in my career, I'm always right. I'm in a male dominant career and seeing a woman just freaks them out, and then to find out I have a brain throws them. Anyways, So I'm very confident and very "right". But then there's other times it's okay for me to be wrong. Does it hurt my esteem? not really!! I just move on. I spent last summer walking with a friend and, often she would say to me during our talks "you like to be right don't you" . She made this comment often enough that I started to really pay attention and try to understand why she made such a comment. It took a while but I finally realized I needed to be right because it gave me a sense of selfworth because, I felt, if I'm right then I've got more to offer than if I'm wrong. I've since realized that people don't like to be around others who like to be right all the time and I've also since realize that being right or wrong doesn't matter - it's more important to have a heart that's in the right place, a heart that loves unconditionally and is right with God. I think God is much more omnieverything than we comprehend and it is hard for us to get it. You know, in the Bible when Joshua asks the angel of the Lord, "Are you with us or our enemy?" The angel answers, "Neither." I wonder if it is sometimes hard for us humans to grasp that God is so much more than our understanding and His agape love super cedes our human abilities most often. I think we only get glimpses of it, in our most spiritual moments. God is so great. Being right does not “do it” for me…not that there is anything wrong with being right. Too often the price of being right is not worth paying. Now helping others find their own personal connection with Jesus, our one and only Saviour…that is worth putting effort into.
