Resplendence Manifesto

About a month ago it was raining outside. I was at Wal-Mart and I noticed an elderly women walking in the rain and it looked like she forgot where she parked her car. I was drawn to help her. It was raining and I needed to get home but I couldn’t leave. She was so beautiful and I just couldn’t leave her. But it was raining I thought to myself… She’ll be fine I thought to myself… She’ll find her car soon I thought to myself… But I knew I couldn’t leave without helping her. So in the pouring rain I helped her find her car and we both went on with our days. She was resplendent by the way; she brought joy to my day and blessed me with her smile and gratitude.

Life looks completely different when you see life through God’s resplendence. People are not annoying anymore, they are precious and dazzling and if you look closely enough you can see a sparkle in everyone. So many people have had their sparkle buried by pain but if you look closely enough you can see it.

Trade your own negative thoughts about yourself for God’s resplendence and embrace the dazzling, radiant world that God has given us to shine with His beauty and grace. The rest of it will slowly start to fall away. We see what we want to see. I see the resplendence of God shining all around.

What do you see?

I was asked only this week to stand in front of a mirror. As, I looked at my reflection I saw resplendence.
    I saw my King’s Glory.
I saw His healing and grace..
I saw resplendence for the very time and had to laugh and giggle and weep all at once. Thank you for a new word in my vocabulary!!! Prayed for you on my walk this morning. Love Ya!

Thanks for the reminder of trading negative thoughts for God’s resplendence. Lately in my tiredness all I see is annoyance and, even though I haven’t acted out or voice that annoyance, I know that it wouldn’t take much for me to get really snappy. Now I will slow down and see the beauty once again.

    Lori,
What a great example you are of “resplendence”. As we were working this morning, I watched you and I was amazed at how beautiful you are. The way you smile at people encourage them. You are gentle, yet strong. You are dazzling, yet not blinding. Resplendence…when I slow down, I see it everywhere.
