Making Vision Stick

Visionstick
A few years back I heard Andy Stanley deliver a talk on the subject at a Leadership Summit. This book pretty much is that talk word for word, and it is just as great in paper format as it was from the pulpit.

Here are a few of the big hits…

  • Vision is about what could be and should be, but life is about right this minute.
  • To cast convincing vision, you have to define the problem that your vision addresses.
  • They already know there’s a problem. They probably have a hunch about the solution. What they need is someone to rise up and do something about it. That is the role of a leader.
  • What people complain about communicates their understanding of the vision.

With another good dose of strep throat (yes that is the third bout since June for those of you who are counting) I am having extra time to read this week.

On to my next book…
