Less Doing… More Being

When you live life in the “doing” mode you will spend a lot of time complaining, thinking about why you are not content with where you are at, you will find yourself less patient, more easily given over to anger, and more easily offended. You will notice what is wrong with other people and they way they choose to do things, you will think that you could do a better job than them if you just got the chance.

When you are doing more doing than being you actually spend a lot of time focused on what YOU are doing and what others are NOT doing.   But When you realize what remarkable gifts and strengths you have to offer, and you begin to offer them… there is no reason to waste brain space on all you do and why you could do things better than other people… When you are doing the things you love, the things that make you feel strong you see others more, you give more, you love more, and you are full and you thrive in the purposes of God for you life.

When you walk in a measure of the fullness of the calling and destiny God has for you, when you know and beleive what God’s word says about who you are,  you do not judge others for being where they are but you desire to come under them and help them see what God sees in them.

I believe that every person here had something very special and unique to offer. Do you believe that you have something very special and unique to offer? Do you know what you have to offer?

    Hi Lori,
I couldn’t agree more about “being”. When you arrive at a state of “being”, life is absolutely beautiful. You enjoy every single moment and find beauty in every creation from God. As you said, when you are “doing”, you spend more time focused on what “YOU” are doing and what others are NOT. When “doing” there is too much time focued on “YOU”. In a state of “being” we allow ourselves to be present in the moment and our energy is focused outwards, on others and the beauty around us. Life is just always so much better with an “OTHERS” focused life.
    Have an awesome day everyone.

I have a head knowledge of what I have to offer but not a heart knowledge. And by that I mean I’m not confident that people want to hear what I have to offer so I tend to keep quiet or, on more than one occasion, run in the other direction when asked for my opinion. Your blog today is very interesting because this morning I was meditating on Eph. 5:1-4 – the theme in my book for this scripture was “A walk in the Park”. The message was “be an imitator of God as his beloved child i.e. do what he does, walk in love, don’t look at my wants and needs, sacrifice what I want for what others want and need”. To me this was pretty profound because I use to put others first then I changed and started putting God first. I finally clued in that if I am walking in a measure of the fullness of the calling and destiny God has for me, I can be a better sister, wife, mother and friend. So I think this means I am finally “being” instead of “doing”.
