Today Lori and I did something that we never do – we slept in until 9:30am. Lori’s parents (I am still not comfortable to call them "my parents") are down for the weekend so they were up and at it with the kids’ at 6:30am.
Oddly enough I feel more tired today than I usually do?
Would you get over that already?
As a way to say thanks for letting you sleep you should say hey Mom thanks alot and give her a big hug, HE HE!
That’s so sweet of Lori’s parents to do that for you both. Sleep is priceless – what a great gift!
Oh, and I don’t feel comfortable calling my inlaws “mom & dad” either. I love them so much, but can’t bring myself to call them that. I have no idea why.
Waking up early is something I don’t think I could handle about having kids (can’t you teach them to say in bed late?). That would be a concern after the whole labour thing of course …
I was going to comment right away about not calling your in-laws mom and dad. Then I sat back and reminded myself that I don’t do that either. They always asked me to call them Jose and Fuencisla. Although they did refer to themselves as my in-laws even before we were married. Juan though has no problems calling my mother mom. He doesn’t call my father dad though. Hmm.
Have your in-laws ever asked them to call you mom and dad? Is it an invitation thing or are you just supposed to do it?
They have invited me to call them Mom & Dad, and I do when I email them, yet I don’t know why it is so challenging when I see them? I think it is an intimacy issue in me?
