A little over a year ago, I was driving through my city, as I do everyday, when something quite unexpected occured. I was listening to the song Meant to Live by Switchfoot, when I became overwhelmed by a deep love for the people of Ottawa. When I say overwhelmed I am not just being dramatic – these tears were quite deep. The only way I could describe this moment was that God allowed Ottawa to became a part of me, and not just where I live. It doesn’t matter where I travel, or what other city I happen to read about, there is no greater passion in my life than to see each person in the National Capital Region living their best life, in Jesus Christ.
Since that day there have been ebbs and flows to how I feel, which is natural, yet one thing continues to burn bright on the inside – my burden for my city.
I think I am finally able to admit it wholeheartedly…Ottawa – I LOVE YOU.
