At the gracious invitation of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, I had a chance today to pre-screen the new movie coming out in December called The Nativity Story. Part of the honour of going to the film was a verbal agreement that I would not "review" the film in any way, which I am going to honour.
Having a chance to watch/think about the birth of Christ, I came away with a greater appreciation for what Joseph must have gone through. I think the challenges that Mary faced have been well documented, but it just struck me watching the story unfold on screen today just how much Joseph had to work through as well. Today simply reinforced that while God’s promises are the same for each of us, His purposes are very different. It made me think about how there are divergent environments that incubate God-sized dreams best.
